About Participation

Collaborative art projects with an emphasis on play, exploration, and self confidence.  Qualified primary teacher – spent ten years teaching full time then set up art/education practice in 2012 after studying for an MA in Children’s Book Illustration.  

Work with galleries, schools and on self initiated projects in a variety of settings, including outdoor spaces.

UHArts, University of Hertfordshire:

Partnership Project with the Superpower of Looking, UHArts and Bernards Heath Junior School, responding to work by artist Rana Begum, loaned to the school. (2025)

New Geographies, outreach project working with groups including: young carers, schools, libraries, University Students, special needs participants, families to engage people with New Geographies project: making books about people’s relationship with their local areas. (2018 – 2021)

Open Art Box

Devise and deliver visual art sessions to enhance and improve the wellbeing of those affected by dementia in Hertfordshire. (2025)

BEEE Creative CIO

Worked as visual artist in collaboration with musician Jenny Pinnock and dancers artist Carrie Washington on Dance Re:Ignite – to create a new dance piece with participants aged 55+. The new dance piece, revolving around a walk-in concertina book was performed at ten venues across North Herts and at the Dance Re:Ignite Festival. (2024 – 2025)

Family Residency, The Collins’ Creative Closet: worked with this family over a few months to help them develop a public session to explore bookmaking, animation and story (2017)

Book making project linked to an exhibition about Ladybird Books, The Wonderful World of the Ladybird Artists (2024)

Wellbeing projects for young people, including A Space to Be, a book project responding to stories from the Courtroom (2021) and online sessions for teenagers linked to Henry Moore, Drawing in the Dark (2023)

All About Us Festival workshop with Trestle Arts Base, run by and for people with learning disabilities (2022)

Engagement projects for children/families/schools linked to exhibitions, including Suzie MacMurray’s exhibition, Masquerade: worked with secondary and primary schools, families and local groups to create a group artworks, comprised of one hundred cuffs made with silk and natural materials. (2018)
