Wonderful to be working with BEEECreative dance CIO again. Their new Community Connectors Network brings together participants, artists and partners to share ideas, meet others and help think about how to continue to create inclusive, creative opportunities that have a positive impact on communities. In September working with Carrie Washington, dancer Suzie Birchwood, evaluator Kirsten Hutton (and visual artist me), we used movement, art and story to explore the idea of the network, decision making and what ‘superpowers’ members can use to bring to the group. We created a short animation to show some of these ideas visually. If you are interested in getting involved please contact BEEECreative.

Animation Day at St Albans Museum and Gallery

Great to work with St Albans Museum and Gallery again on the 12th September, this time a hand-drawn animation session, using tracing paper, pencil and water colours. Thanks so much to the participants – great to meet you and loved the artwork that was produced! Hope to run more sessions like this soon, exploring the very basics of animation by hand.

Orchid Day at St Albans Museum and Gallery

Really enjoyed ‘Orchid Day’ at St Albans Museum and Gallery. Thanks so much to all who came for the day and worked so hard with great enthusiasm on a hot day. This session was linked to the exhibition: A Growing City, on until 31st August.

Here are a couple of pictures of some of the amazing work made on the day. The focus was on exploring orchids in different drawing media referring to real moth orchids, photographs of orchids and pictures of orchids.

The information that follows, till the bottom of this page, is from the News page from 2018 to 2026. The idea here was to copy in all the posts from the news page now that they are in the ‘past’. But I accidentally deleted everything – so here are some photographs with a tiny bit of explanation in anti-chronological order – will try to do better in the future!

Lovely session with Open Art Box in Stevenage and Letchworth. Participants made small beautiful books. Always such a pleasure to work with Open Art Box CIC who promote participation in the visual arts to enhance and improve the wellbeing of those affected by dementia in Hertfordshire.

The last few years:

I managed to delete this whole page while editing and it has just gone – no back ups available! I’ll gradually add things here that are highlights from the last few years – suppose it’s quite good to have a clear out, and much of the work appears on other pages of this site.
