project.<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>3 year partnership project<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nearly 300 publicly nominated places across East Anglia<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over 500 artists&#8217; proposals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>10 new commissions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The New Geographies project was inspired by unique places that were nominated by the public in 2017. These locations express a range of personal thoughts, reflections and stories about unexplored or over-looked places. Around 50 nominations were received for Hatfield, St Albans and wider Hertfordshire.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Artists responded to the nominated sites with proposals and the selected artists developed new work. These ambitious final artworks involved events, performances, film screenings and temporary structures in the landscape: each sensitively responding to its specific location(s). Together the nominations and artworks create a new map of East Anglia.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Art for All: Jane Glynn worked with UHArts to share the project with people around Hertfordshire and Essex through a range of participatory workshops. &nbsp;The first workshops introduced the project and the artists &nbsp;Krijn de Kooning and Stuart Whipps.
